What you need:
- Embroidery thread x2
- Beads of choice
- Sellotape
- Scissors
- Pencil
Cut 5 or 6 strands of thread a meter or so long, and 2 strands much longer. Bunch them together and fold in half. Knot the strands together at the fold, using a pencil, to create a loop.
Sellotape it down so hard it hurts.
Wrap the longer strands (there should be 4 now) around the others. When you reach a desirable length of braid, take a strand and thread your bead though. Divide the remaining strands making sure you have 2 of the longer strands on each side.
Wrap the 2 longer threads around one side and repeat on the other. Tape the rest down to avoid irritation.
Once completed, knot the single strand around the whole lot to enclose your bead.
Keep orrrrn wrapping until you can't take anymore.
Knot and split into 2.
Plait down each side to create a fastening that you can thread through the loop on the other side.
Explaining that was exhausting. It is actually easier done than said.
