I AM ALIVE

Hello followers, I hope you still like me.
I have been away for a few months attempting to sort my life out after graduation.
I WILL BE POSTING IMAGES OF THE LONDON SHOW SOON!
They are great, the night was fantastic and giant plush toy jesus was in his element watching over the gallery.

I have moved into a lovely attic room with the man and have been creating some delights to defeat the unemployment blues that eats at my soul..

YAY
I will be making more treats this week to show you all.

SECRET ZINE

A few of us on our course got together to make a not-so-secret zine in homage to (to slightly take the piss out of) our Illustration tutors anonymously. However, each illustrators way of working happened to be distinctive enough to be caught out.

I drew my pal Roy Brown.

(I stole these photos from Elliot.)

update

I've been a bit flustered recently and haven't updated my blog as I have produced work. So here is Noah's Ark and Henry.

I HAVE LOADS OF WORK TO DO BEFORE THE END OF THE UNI YEAR ARGHHH.
Making some more dolls next week hopefully, and heading to Pick Me Up with my Mumma on Thursday!

BYE NOW,

1000% Buttitude

To coincide with the 'NAKED' show my pals Elliot Coffin and Jonny Clapham created a zine with all the exhibitionist's naked and naughty doodles and drawings. It is wonderfully construsted with many processes such as screen print and risograph. If you would like to bag yourself a limited edition copy for a measley £3 let me know! All funds go towards our end of year London Show.

Here are some of my naughties next to Jonny's naughties..

NAKED Exhibition

So these are my pieces from our recent 'NAKED' Exhibition at the Open Space Gallery in Bournemouth. A group of us decided to organise a show to help raise funds for our end of year show at The Rag Factory in London, as well as have a bit of a giggle with a fun theme.

I was very excited with the theme and got a bit carried away so mine are rather saucy.

Naked from TOO LATE on Vimeo.
Short film edited and produced by my pal Mat Waudby.

NAUGHTY,

Helen.

Jesus Christ

So this is the son of God looking pretty blue as he dies a painful death.
Been very happy sewing my Jesus doll today. It turns out making a tiny felt willy is actually pretty hard.
The final product will be revealed soon once I have persuaded someone handsome with a hammer to build me a cross.

And this is Kyle Bigger pretending to do some drawing in our homemade studio/lounge/dancefloor.

The Blessing

I have a few religion-related drawings on the go at the moment that will be coming online in the next few days.  My burning love flame for colouring pencils has been relit and is now igniting a passionate love fire that will banish all felt tips from my studio forever more. Basically, I am enjoying this new way of working.

Went to Fabric Land yesterday to spend my life savings on felt, cannot wait to get my hands on my sewing machine again to make some dolls.

WHEN YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS WATCH F.R.I.E.N.D.S

A quick old drawing of my friends F.R.I.E.N.D.S cause sometimes its nice to watch some friends.

1999

The final image for the theme I was working on before Christmas. I was probably too excited to be doing nothing and too drunk to upload this as I had finished it, so apologies for that!

Loads of work from new project to come!

Shit Sketchbook

A few images from the sketchbook for this project. This term I have learned, essentially, not to give a shite what it looks like visually and concentrate on how a sketchbook helps me record and develop ideas as well as practice drawing. So that's my excuse for it looking crap..

I have really enjoyed this new way of working as a support for final outcomes, and plan to create more shit drawings in the future.

I'm going on a Cruise to Egypt this Christmas with the fam, so prepare to see a lot of blue and a lot of triangles when I get back. Maybe a camel or two.

Xtraterrestrial

This lil guy has devoted his life to worship his favourite motion picture,  E.T.
His choice may be largely influenced by his own rather coincidental, extraterrestrial appearance.

This particular illustration was created during a painful all-nighter fueled by Monster and crisp sandwiches, in determination to complete a number of large scale drawings in a short period.

Spice up your life

This is a Spice Girls fan and she has spiced up her life.
Portrait/fashion illustration for fabric design.

Hand in tomorrow, too much work to do my brain hurts.

I'M GOING TO HAVE A BIG FAT PINT,

Furby

Within this repulsive pattern lurks the body of a Furby. The repetitive nature of the image represents obsession and devotion that we may experience as a child.

This  old chap really likes Furbies.
